How Much Is Your Home Worth?
There are a lot of online "Home Valuation" tools, like the one found on Zillow.com.?Although it is a great, convenient idea, they are very new and their "values" can be very far from accurate. We have done a lot of research on these sites, like Zillow, and have found that the "values" for homes in Colorado Springs, Monument and surrounding areas are all over the place. This is not fair to someone who needs an accurate idea of what their home is worth. An online "Home Valuation" tool does not understand the local markets, nor do they understand the "little things" that a homeowner does to raise (or lower in some cases) the value of their home. So, even though these sites offer a lot of great information and their tools can be very handy, accurate valuation can only be determined by someone with intimate knowledge of your city, your neighborhood and your home. If you are serious about selling your home (even if you want to do it unrepresented, like For Sale By Owner) we highly recommend that you support your online research with one, or both of the following:

1. Hire a licensed appraiser that has recently appraised homes in your neighborhood, and/or
